Staff Accountant

Job purpose:

As a Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in the Accounting team and will facilitate Senior Management’s understanding of the company’s financial progress through account research and communication of findings. In addition, the role will assist in the development and enforcement of internal controls and policies/procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and credit card and bank reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Create and maintain general ledger and mapping of production functions
  • Perform inter-company accounting entries
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Handle client billings and collections; assist with AP as needed
  • Manage media and production reconciliations
  • Manage PO system for production jobs
  • Import and maintain PM software data for financial reporting
  • Perform internal audits on accounts/contracts
  • Post cash receipts
  • Provide support to team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn new software
  • Willingness to research into ways to improve processes

Compensation:

  • Compensation based upon experience
    • Position is exempt and salaried
    • Position is full-time
    • Position offers all other benefits as defined in SCS employee handbook
