Traffic Manager (Post-Production)

JOB PURPOSE

  • This role is designed to ensure that the many projects conducted within SCS and for SCS clients reach successful outcomes; that milestones are met, resources managed, communication remains consistent and process is followed; that SCS remains at the forefront of knowledge and expertise in all areas of its capabilities in order to deliver services unmatched elsewhere
  • The job of a Traffic Manager is to manage the Traffic Department which is responsible for
    • the efficient and successful delivery of all content produced by Schiefer Chopshop to its final destination, whether that be broadcast trafficking, direct to client, social media upload, media partners/channels or other media.
    • the management of all licensed assets included in SCS content, including talent and music expiration dates
    • ensure that SCS content has gone through the appropriate approval channels prior to final approval for delivery, including proofreading and quality assurance for correct broadcast specs

  • This role requires an understanding of SCS clients’ needs and to quickly grasp each client's goals, and make use of the resources of the agency, to manage the traffic department effectively and ensure client and agency satisfaction
  • This role requires industry experience, expertise, and the application of judgment based upon these factors for the execution of successful campaigns for SCS clients

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with the Department Project Managers to forecast deliverables and track milestones for timely trafficking
  • Design and implement process for trafficking, including set up of spreadsheets and other project management software
  • Communicate directly with the client’s media buying team on a weekly basis to stay up to date on upcoming deliverables and added value opportunities
  • Update traffic sheets and distribute to SCS and/or client media teams
  • Create Ad-IDs / ISCIs to identify and track deliverables
  • Traffic SCS content on time as needed
  • Design and implement process for inventory and archival of SCS assets
  • Design and implement process for tracking, and if necessary suspending, the use of licensed materials in SCS assets, including talent and music usage expirations
  • Manage the budgets and expenses of the Traffic Department
  • Proof, quality check and track versions of rough cuts, digital exports, scripts, etc for SCS internal and client approval
  • Proof, quality check and track versions of rough cuts, digital exports, scripts, slates, etc for media partner and/or network clearance
  • Design and implement process for tracking purchase orders and expenses for SCS post-production department
  • Design and implement process for tracking post-production manhours, including billing for edit and graphics bays
  • Lead the Traffic team, if any, on all matters of execution
  • Effect problem resolution within the team, across agency departments and with clients
  • All other duties necessary as directed by management for the successful servicing of SCS clients

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication skills, highly organized, and extreme attention to detail
  • Minimum two years trafficking or related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Google Drive platforms
  • Ability to use a variety of project management platforms
  • Must have experience with best practices in post-production management
  • Familiarity with video formats and digital file types
  • Proofreading a plus

  • Compensation based upon experience
    • Position is exempt and salaried
    • Position is full-time
